Luxury Alaska and Rocky Mountaineer Itinerary

Day 1 - UK - Calgary (Canada)

Fly from the UK to Calgary and transfer to the Fairmont Palliser Hotel for an overnight stay. Spend the evening at leisure. You'll receive complimentary tickets to the Calgary Tower, where you can admire incredible views across the city from 525 feet up.

Day 2 - Banff

Check-out of the hotel and travel by private coach to Banff. Enjoy an amazing panoramic helicopter tour taking in snow-capped peaks and valleys. You'll also enjoy a gondola ride to the summit of Sulphur Mountain for 360 views of Banff, before spending the evening at leisure. Two nights at the Rimrock Hotel. (B)

Day 3 - Yoho National Park

Today you will enjoy a tour of the breathtaking Yoho National Park with highlights including the Hoodoos rock formation and Tunnel Mountain Drive. Spend the remainder of the day at leisure. (B)

Day 4 - Rocky Mountains

Check-out of the hotel and transfer to the Rocky Mountaineer for your two-day journey to Vancouver. Enjoy GoldLeaf Service on board and take in awe-inspiring scenery including the Spiral Tunnels and Roger's Pass in the Glacier National Park. On arrival in Kamloops, leave the train and transfer to a hotel for an overnight stay. Spend the remainder of the evening at leisure. (B,L)

Day 5 - Rocky Mountains

This morning, re-join the Rocky Mountaineer®. Today you'll follow the Thompson River passing through Ashcroft and Rainbow Canyon before continuing to Fraser Canyon and Hells Gate. The final leg of this journey showcases the stunning Fraser Valley before you arrive in Vancouver. Transfer to the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver for a 3-night stay.(B,L)

Day 6 - Vancouver

Enjoy a guided sightseeing tour of Vancouver and the beauiful North Shore which offers stunning views of the city and surrounding mountains. Tour highlights include Grouse Mountain and the impressive Capilano Suspension Bridge. Spend the evening at leisure. (B)

Day 7 - Victoria

Board a ferry for a scenic crossing to the world-famous Butchart Gardens and explore Victoria's city centre. Visit downtown Victoria, strolling through Chinatown and the Inner Harbour. You can enjoy time at leisure in downtown Victoria before returning to Vancouver. You will receive complimentary tickets to Vancouver Tower which you can visit at leisure one evening. (B)

Day 8 - Vancouver

Spend early morning at leisure, before transferring to the port to embark Seven Seas Mariner. (B,L,D)

Day 9 - Cruising the Inside Passage

Enjoy the ship's facilities whilst sailing through some of the most beautiful scenery in the world on a relaxing day cruising the Inside Passage. (B,L,D)

Day 10 - Ketchikan (Alaska)

Ketchikan is derived from the native term, "Katch Kanna", meaning "spread wings of a thundering eagle" and was once named the Salmon Capital of the World. There are 11 free shore excursions to choose from, including a Great Alaskan Lumberjack Show, a canoe ride through the Tongass Rainforest and crab feast at George Inlet Lodge. (B,L,D)

Day 11 - Sitka

Sikta was once the centre of Russia's Alaskan empire but today it is known for its fishing industry. Choose from 15 free shore excursions, including a cruise discovering Alaska's abundant marine and wildlife, a visit to the Alaska Raptor Center, and a nature walk through the Sitka National Historical Park. Day 12 - Skagway

Skagway sits at the end of the Alaska Marine Highway and was known to thousands of gold rush pioneers as the gateway to the gold fields. There are 11 free shore excursions, from an exhilarating train ride on Skagway's White Pass and Yukon Route Railroad to panning for gold at the Klondike Goldfields. (B,L,D)

Day 13 - Cruising the Hubbard Glacier

Enjoy the ship's facilities whilst cruising the majestic Hubbard Glacier which is 75 miles long and regularly calves huge icebergs which crash into the sea. (B,L,D)

Day 14 - Juneau

At the mouth of Gold Creek, Joe Juneau and Richard Harris stumbled upon gold nuggets. Out of their discoveries came three of the largest gold digs in the world with around $150 million of gold being mined. Today, there are 13 free shore excursions to choose from. Perhaps board a deluxe catamaran for a whale and wildlife viewing cruise, pan for gold at Gold Creek or head to the Mendenhall Glacier. (B,L,D)

Day 15 - Prince Rupert

Prince Rupert is the largest community on the north coast of British Colombia. Choose from 6 free shore excursions, including a visit to two fascinating museums, a hike through a coastal rainforest to a series of waterfalls, and a kayaking trip along the coastline of Kloiya Bay. (B,L,D)

Day 16 - Cruising the Outside Passage
