Alaska and Rockies Cruise Itinerary
Day 1 - London - Calgary (Canada)
Make your way to London Heathrow for your scheduled flight to Calgary. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Tonight, meet your fellow travellers and your Travelmarvel Tour Director at a Welcome Reception at Calgary Tower. Stay at Calgary, Marriott Downtown Hotel or similar.
Day 2 - Calgary - Banff
After breakfast this morning, depart Calgary and head towards Banff National Park, past some truly spectacular scenery. Enjoy a visit to Yamnuska Wolfdog Sanctuary along the way. On arrival in Banff, head out on a sightseeing tour. Stay at Banff National Park, Banff Park Lodge or similar. (B,D)
Day 3 - Banff
Following breakfast, enjoy the day at leisure to explore Banff at your own pace. You may like to use this time to wander the town independently or simply relax in the comfort of your lodge. Alternatively, set off on one of the optional experiences that are available today. Perhaps enjoy a Banff Experience Tour, which includes a visit to Johnston Canyon. Stay at Banff National Park, Banff Park Lodge or similar. (B)
Day 4 - Banff - Lake Louise
En route to Lake Louise, weather permitting, you will be able to stop and take in the stunning Moraine Lake. The striking blue lake is simply breathtaking and resembles a postcard. Continue to the world-famous Lake Louise. Stay at Lake Louise Inn. (B,D)
Day 5 - Lake Louise - Icefields Parkway - Athabasca Glacier - Jasper
This morning, journey along the spectacular Icefields Parkway. Stop at Athabasca Glacier for an Ice Explorer ride, then continue to the fairytale setting of Jasper National Park. Stay at Jasper, Mountain Park Lodges or similar. (B)
Day 6 - Jasper - Blue River
Descend the Canadian Rockies and journey to Blue River. Insider Experience - set off on an extraordinary River Safari to stunning Grizzly Bear Valley. Day 7 - Blue River - Kamloops - Vancouver
Travel along the historic tracks of the early gold rush pioneers through the rugged Cariboo region to the cosmopolitan city of Vancouver. This evening, enjoy time to unwind or set out and begin exploring at your leisure. Stay at Vancouver, Coast Coal Harbour Hotel. (B)
Day 8 - Vancouver
Take a sightseeing tour of Vancouver, with highlights including the famed Waterfront. The afternoon is at leisure. You may like to visit the shopping mecca of Robson Street, embark on an optional gondola ride or walk across the Capilano Suspension Bridge. Stay at Vancouver, Coast Coal Harbour Hotel or similar. Day 9 - Vancouver - Whistler
Head along the Sea to Sky Highway to Whistler. On arrival, there is an exciting range of Select Experiences to choose from. Perhaps explore Whistler’s ancient forests with a selection of tree trek options or enjoy an optional gondola ride between the breathtaking Whistler and Blackcombe mountains. Day 10 - Whistler - Victoria
Take a ferry from Horseshoe Bay across the Georgia Strait to Vancouver Island and on to Victoria. Alternatively, you may like to enjoy a floatplane flight from Whistler to Victoria. Stay at The Parkside Hotel and Spa, Victoria or similar. (B)
Day 11 - Victoria
Spend today at your leisure. Perhaps join the whale-watching cruise or enjoy a horse-drawn carriage tour through the city with highlights including Beacons Hill Park (own expense). Stay at The Parkside Hotel and Spa, Victoria or similar. (B,D)
Day 12 - Victoria - Vancouver
Travel to Vancouver and board your cruise ship. Stay seven nights on Holland America Line's ms Volendam. (B,D)
Day 13 - Inside Passage
Spend today cruising through the majestic landscape of the Inside Passage. (B,L,D)
Day 14 - Juneau
Juneau is the fascinating capital of Alaska and located on the Gastineau Channel. Perhaps explore the town and its rustic shops or take in the diverse landscapes. (B,L,D)
Day 15 - Skagway
Skagway was once a frontier town and renowned as the gateway to the Klondike. The saloons in the town capture the essence of the gold rush era. Perhaps discover gold prospecting or view local wildlife (both at own expense). (B,L,D)
Day 16 - Glacier Bay National Park
Wake up to the breathtaking sight of World Heritage-listed Glacier Bay National Park which boasts more actively calving tidewater glaciers than anywhere else in the world. (B,L,D)
Day 17 - Ketchikan
Arrive in Ketchikan today, a lovely town that is set right on the shores of the Tongass Narrows, with many colourful shops and houses built right over the water. Perhaps join a walking tour or visit the Saxman Native Village (both at own expense). (B,L,D)
Day 18 - Inside Passage
Spend today cruising south through the majestic landscapes of the Inside Passage and soak in the stunning sights of this awe-inspiring region during your final day at sea. Marvel at the towering snow-capped peaks and icy glaciers, and from the ship’s deck, watch for the fascinating variety of marine life that can be spotted here. (B,L,D)
Day 19 - Vancouver (Canada)
On arrival in Vancouver, disembark your ship and transfer to the airport for your return flight. (B)
Day 20 - UK
Arrive back in London.
