VEN - Venice City Cruise Break Itinerary
Day 1 - Venice (Italy)
Embark at 6pm in Venice at our mooring on the Marittima or San Basilio wharf (waterbus stop Santa Marta). Enjoy a welcome cocktail party in the lounge. After dinner, explore the sights of Venice at leisure. Overnight in port.
Day 2 - Venice
This morning there is an optional visit of the Doge's Palace. The palace is Byzantine in origin and used to be the home of the Doge and the seat of the Palace of Justice. This afternoon's optional excursion visits the islands in the Lagoon. Begin in Murano, home of Venice’s glassmaking industry since the late 13th century then visit Burano, famous for its lacework which was developed on the island in the 16th century. Return on board and cruise to Venice.
Day 3 - Venice
Spend today discovering Venice at leisure. Optional guided tour of a handcraft manufacturing of a gondola, originally the the most used means of transportation by the inhabitants and visit a factory which makes masks, a symbol of Venice since 1271, they were originally black, but in the course of time the forms changed and colors were added. Free afternoon in Venice.
Day 4 - Chioggia
Breakfast on board while the ship cruises across the magnificent Venice lagoon to reach Chioggia mid morning. Have some time to discover the town on your own before lunch on board. In the afternoon, an optional excursion visits Padua, the pilgrimage town of St Anthony and famous for its art. Following a visit to the Santo Basilica, dedicated to St Anthony, stroll through the historic town centre and discover the popular Pedrocchi coffee house. In the meantime, the ship cruises back to Venice where you will join it in the evening. Dinner on board and gala evening.
Day 5 - Venice
Disembark at the passenger terminal after breakfast.
