Whichever ship you choose, the Empress of The North, Columbia Queen or the Queen of the West, you are assured of an unparalleled level of service and comfort. Each ship is crafted and furnished to the highest standard and have a character of their own. Although the ambience is elegant Victorian, the amenities are very much up-to-date. Suites and cabins feature luxurious mattresses and premium linens in-keeping with the lavish surroundings.
Dining
Fine dining is all part of the pleasure of a classic steamboat cruise. The cuisine onboard brings an inspired and varied menu including many traditional, regional dishes – all served with legendary American service. You’ll find characterful, high-class restaurants as well as cosy lounges and bars to ensure refreshment around-the-clock.
Entertainment
Every night is a celebration on the river. Talented onboard entertainers take centre stage in the ships’ showrooms after dinner. A jazzy house band or piano soloist offers live music during cocktail hour and for dancing at night. Broadway to blues, ragtime to rock and roll – there’s something toe-tapping for everyone.

The Empress of the North is a very spacious and comfortable sternwheeler. Designed originally for Alaskan rivers, she is furnished in a style reminiscent of 19th century imperial Russia and the opulence of the gold rush. The staterooms feature large windows and most offer private verandas.

The luxurious Columbia Queen combines state-of-the-art propulsion and navigation systems with luxuries more typical of larger luxury vessels. Onboard are spacious public rooms filled with richly polished woodwork and plush seating, Tiffany & Co. chandeliers, and artwork inspired by the Pacific Northwest. The spacious staterooms are generously furnished and many offer private verandas or French balconies.

Queen of the West

The Queen of the West was designed to showcase the wide-open vistas, forested riverbanks and small towns of Alaska and the Northwest. Four decks – two of them wrapping round the entire ship – offer panoramic viewing from every angle. Her spacious lounges are filled with generous windows letting in light. All 142 passengers aboard enjoy outside staterooms where scenic views change by the hour.
