Day 2 - Lyon

Positioned at the conference of the Rhone and Saone rivers, Lyon is France's second largest city. Later, a walk through the cobbled streets of the old town will take you past the Roman amphitheatre. (B,L,D)

Day 3 - Chalon-sur-Saone - Beaune

Chalon-sur-Saone is at the centre of Burgundy's wine region and it is from here that you will travel by road to the charming village of Beaune. Afterwards, you may explore Macon at your leisure. (B,L,D)

Today, you can enjoy a walking tour of Tournon with your local guide. Nestled in a valley near the slopes of France's third largest mountain range, Tournon is home to a 16th-century castle and numerous Roman ruins. A bicycle tour to Glun is also available today, or a guided hike through the vineyards. EmeraldPLUS: Onboard regional wine tasting during the evening. (B,L,D)

Day 6 - Avignon

One of France's most popular destinations, this fortified town was once the residence of the Popes and played a central role in the French Revolution.
