Continue to the village of Grignan, surrounded by lavender fields and dominated by the spectacular Romanseque Chateau of the Adhemar de Monteil. Jewels of the Rhone Cruise Itinerary

Day 1 - UK - Lyon (France)

Fly from the UK to Lyon and transfer to your ship located on the River Rhone. (D)

Day 2 - Lyon

Enjoy a full day in the city of Lyon. Uncover its ancient history on a guided tour with highlights including fascinating Roman ruins. See the magnificent Basilique Notre-Dame de Fourviere, a superb example of 19th-century religious architecture. Later, discover the Renaissance charm of Old Lyon. This afternoon, spend time at leisure. (B,L,D)

Day 3 - Tournon - Boucieu-le-Roi

From Tournon, travel through the stunning countryside of the Rhone-Alpes region en route to Boucieu-le-Roi, a charming village in the Ardeche region. Like a Local - Meet the locals as they take you on a guided tour around their beautiful village. Stroll around the village market and sample some local delights at morning tea, before soaking up the atmosphere at a folk music performance. (B,L,D)

Day 4 - Viviers - Grignan

Continue cruising to the medieval town of Viviers. From Viviers, drive through the countryside once again. Later, head to the charming village of Grignan. Enjoy a guided walking tour through its labyrinth of winding streets. The town is dominated by the Chateau of the Adhemar de Monteil, considered one of the last examples of Romanesque architecture. After dinner, perhaps enjoy an evening stroll through the town. (B,L,D)

Day 5 - Avignon

Explore the rich history of Avignon on a guided tour. Visit the magnificent 14th-century Palace of the Popes, the world's largest Gothic palace and see the iconic Pont d'Avignon. (B,L,D)

Day 6 - Arles - Les Baux-de-Provence

After breakfast, enjoy a sightseeing tour of Arles, home to an array of ancient monuments including the Constantine's Baths and the Roman Ampitheatre. Later, head to a hilltop village in Les Baux de Provence. A Taste of France - visit an olive mill and farm in Saint-Remy de Provence for a tour and tasting. Tonight, enjoy the Captain's Farewell Dinner. (B,L,D)

Day 7 - Camargue National Reserve

Discover the beautiful landscapes of the Camargue National Reserve. The areas is home to around 400 species of birds, including the greater flamingo. The reserve is one of Europe's largest wetlands. (B,L,D)

Day 8 - Arles - UK

Disembark the ship and transfer to Marseille Airport for your return flight to the UK. (B)
