Explore the Antarctic Peninsula and Marguerite Bay with 13 Day Antarctic Polar Circle Quest
This extraordinary journey departing winter 10/11 into the magical landscapes of the Antarctic Peninsula presents us with a unique adventure that takes us beyond the limits of the Polar Circle and into a world that few people have ever seen.
In the company of our knowledgeable crew and a superbly equipped vessel we will journey through the ice packed channels of the southern oceans, aboard the world’s leading explorer ship, the new MS Fram. This peerless voyage takes us from the southern shores of South America and into one of the last great frontiers left on Earth, following in the footsteps of an exclusive club of pioneering spirits to a land of matchless majesty.

Journey to the White Continent on MS FramBeginning on the southern tip of Tierra del Fuego, our journey begins in the city of Ushuaia. We will sail out across the waters of the Drake Passage, towards the northern edge of Antarctica, a vast white expanse of some of the most pristine and unspoilt landscapes on the planet.
Our itinerary will be very much dictated by sea and weather conditions, but we would hope to be able to linger and explore something of its rich natural diversity as we go. Passing vistas that shimmer beneath a southern sky, we will watch out for whales breaching the deep waters and icebergs calving into the icy depths. We will enjoy the eccentric delights of penguins and seals as vast towering giants of rock and ice pass close by as we head ever deeper into the heart of this incredible continent.
Across the Polar CircleFew people ever experience the unique moment of passing from one realm into another but that is just what we aim to do as we make our way towards the imaginary line that marks the entrance into a rarely seen land of matchless and breathtaking beauty. These waters are navigable only by a select few and MS Fram reveals her true worth as we sail through ice-chocked waters that are home to minke whales, orcas, and leopard seals.
Our destination is the krill rich sea and spectacular landscape around Marguerite Bay, where we shall spend time exploring a setting that offers the chance to witness stunning wildlife encounters, unsurpassed panoramas and a rare insight into the history of polar research in these remote islands. Our itinerary will depend upon local conditions but our crew will ensure that our time here is spent to the best possible effect.

Seabirds and Southern ShoresThe homeward journey sees us re-crossing the Antarctic Circle and tracing our way back up through the abundant waters of the southern seas, back towards the converging currents of the Drake Passage, where the mighty oceans of the Pacific and the Atlantic meet.
The landmark of Cape Horn marks the end point of our crossing of this famous maritime highway. Our journey’s end is almost in sight as, an escort of ever-present seabirds, we arrive back in Ushuaia after an unforgettable adventure at the bottom of the world.
