Fly from Buenos Aires to Ushuaia before your journey takes you across the Drake Passage, escorted by albatross and petrels, to the magnificent scenery of the Antarctic Peninsula and its abundant summer wildlife of seals, penguins, and whales.

To enrich our experience, MS Fram’s expert team of expedition staff and lecturers will offer presentations on the history, biology, and geology of Antarctica along the way.

Come ashore with our team in sturdy Polar Cirkel boats for a close-up look at penguin colonies, modern research facilities, and historic sites. Marvel at the mountainous scenery and icebergs floating by from the comfort of our unique Passenger Bridge. The return voyage from Antarctica takes us back to Ushuaia before flying back Buenos Aires. This truly is an epic voyage of discovery where every view is a photographer’s dream and the long austral summer day means there is plenty of opportunity to take it all in.

The Classic Expedition Itinerary

Day 1 - Buenos Aires (Argentina) - Ushuaia

Fly from Buenos Aires to Ushuaia and enjoy a few hours at leisure before the voyage departs from the Island of Tierra del Fuego in the afternoon. After the included excursion to Ushuaia National Park, embark MS Fram.
Days 2-3 - Drake Passage
Named after Sir Francis Drake, the Drake passage is one of the world's greatest seaways connecting the waters of the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. Infamous and legendary, it is steeped in the history and the lore of exploration and discovery and, as your vessel comfortably negotiates its way south, there will be a chance to enjoy a series of educational lectures en route.
Days 4-7 - Antarctica
Once you cross the Antarctic Convergence you will start to feel the air getting crisper and colder. Antarctic penguins will hunt and play around you and icebergs are an ever present feature of the landscape. Dedicated to scientific research and with no permanent inhabitants, Antarctica is home to millions of penguins and its seas provide sustence to thousands of whales. The ice, the wind and weather dictate life in Antarctica as well as your route. Every voyage is unique and your experienced crew endeavour to make each one an experience of a lifetime. The final choice of landings will be made in the course of the voyage and may include Deception Island, Half Moon Island, Yankee Harbour, Cuverville Island, Neko Harbour, Paradise Harbour, Petermann Island, Port Lockroy, Wilhelmina Bay, Antarctic Sound, Brown Bluff and the iceberg lined Lemaire Channel.
Days 8-9 - Drake Passage
Leave Antarctica and sail north across the Drake Passage. During the crossing you can enjoy further lectures and recap your experiences of Antarctica.
Day 10 - Ushuaia (Argentina) - Buenos Aires
The end of your journey see you back in the most southernly town on Earth and transfer to Ushuaia airport for your return flight to Buenos Aires.
