Join MS Fram to discover Antarctica, the last untouched continent. This 10-day tour offers an in-depth introduction to the planet’s most beguiling continent. With nine nights on board the ship, five days will be spent in Antarctica.

Our journey will take us across the Drake Passage, escorted by albatross and petrels, to the magnificent scenery of the Antarctic Peninsula and its abundant summer wildlife of seals, penguins, and whales.

To enrich our experience, MS Fram’s expert team of expedition staff and lecturers will offer presentations on the history, biology, and geology of Antarctica along the way.

Come ashore with our team in sturdy Polar Cirkel boats for a close-up look at penguin colonies, modern research facilities, and historic sites. Marvel at the mountainous scenery and icebergs floating by from the comfort of our unique Passenger Bridge. Crabeater Seal

The return voyage from Antarctica takes us back to Ushuaia, and flights back Buenos Aires before catching your international flight home. 2011 Itinerary
Day 1
Buenos Aires

Fly from Buenos Aires to Ushuaia and embark the MS Fram. In the evening we set course through the scenic Beagle Channel for the Drake Passage and Antarctica.

Day 2
Drake Passage

Sail across the Drake Passage, on course for the AntarcticPeninsula and the South Shetland Islands. A series of on board lectures will introduce you to the wonders of Antarctica.

Day 3 - 8
In Antarctica

In Antarctica. Explore the South Shetland Islands and isles along the Antarctic Peninsula and visit penguin colonies, discover ice formations and look out for wildlife. Your itinerary will depend on local weather and ice conditions but may include Deception Island, Half Moon Island, Yankee Harbour, Cuverville Island, Neko Harbour, Paradise Harbour, Petermann Island, Port Lockroy, Wilhelmina Bay, Antarctic Sound, Brown Bluff and the iceberg lined Lemaire Channel. During your time here there will be regular land and boat excursions.

Day 9
Leave Antarctica

Leave Antarctica and sail north across the Drake Passage.During the crossing you can enjoy further lectures and recap your experiences of Antarctica.

Day 10
Antarctica to Cape Horn

Disembark in Ushuaia and fly to Buenos Aires.

  • Your flight package includes: Return economy class (usually overnight) flights from London Heathrow to Buenos Aires (via Madrid or similar), including applicable taxes and current fuel surcharges (except departure tax from South America which has to be paid locally), 1 night in Buenos Aires before and 1 night after the voyage including breakfast, transfers to/from Buenos Aires airport.
