Our experienced lecturer in photography joins you as you travel north along the Norwegian coast. Sailing among the islands and fjords, you discover how to get the best results from digital cameras and maximise the potential of related photographic software. The changing Arctic light will challenge your skills whether you zoom in on aspects of life on board, or try to reproduce the silent beauty of snow-draped settlements fringing the shore.
Additionally each excursion offers a diverse range of subject matter – cathedral grandeur, Art Nouveau Ålesund, wheeling sea eagles, the rugged North Cape, brightly painted fishermens’ cabins reflected in the deep waters, soaring bridges and breathtaking views – all will put you to the test and in the right frame of mind. No previous photographic experience is necessary.

Continuing north you head for the medieval city of Trondheim, whose colourful history is reflected in its handsome civic architecture. (B, D)
Crossing the Arctic Circle you continue to the modern town of Bodø before sailing through the glorious Lofoten Islands and to their stylish capital, Svolvær.(B, D)
A relaxing morning at sea precedes your arrival in Tromsø, the capital of the Arctic. Modern shops and cafés provide a vibrant contrast to the stunning stained glass of the Arctic Cathedral, whilst the Polar Museum and Polaria centre explore Arctic life over the centuries. (B, D)
Following an early call at Hammerfest you arrive in Honningsvåg, the portal to the wonders of the spectacular North Cape. (B, D)
The vistas and sea life become more dramatic as you approach Kirkenes, just a few Transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK. (B)
