Sail to Granada, renowned for its majestic Alhambra Palace, uncover Ronda's splendid architecture and visit Gibraltar, the famous British outpost home to the Barbary Apes. The next port of call is Cadiz, where there is the opportunity to travel to Seville to uncover the city's Moorish and Spanish heritage and several UNESCO classified monuments.

Take the optional excursion to Jerez de la Frontera, famous for its sherry and bull fighting, before cruising to picturesque Portimao, gateway to the traditional town of Silves and beautiful city of Monchique which retains a 16th-century charm.

Glories of Spain and Portugal Itinerary

Day 1 - UK - Malaga (Spain)

Fly from the UK to Malaga and embark Panorama II or Harmony G.

Day 2 - Motril

From Motril there is an optional full day excursion to Granada to visit the spectacular Alhambra Palace complex. There is also time to visit the Cathedral with its Royal Chapel and the Monastery of La Cartuja.

Day 3 - Porto Banus

Arrive in Porto Banus for an optional excursion to Ronda, a historic city which retains much of its charm. Enjoy a visit to the elegant 16th-century convent and the beautiful Plaza Duquesa de Parcent. Later there will be time to visit Marbella, one of the classiest European ports.

Day 4 - Gibraltar (UK)

Today's optional excursion to the Rock includes a cable car ride to the summit of Gibraltar, where the guide will point out the geography of this British colony. Next, travel down to the Middle Station, home to Gibraltar’s oldest inhabitants, the Barbary Apes, before taking the coach to Princess Caroline’s Battery and the entrance to the Great Siege Tunnels and then on to the Gibraltar Museum.

Days 5-6 - Cadiz (Spain)

There is the option to travel from Cadiz to Seville, one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. Perhaps take the guided tour of the cathedral, the Alcazar Palace and its Andalusian gardens, the Maria Luisa Park and the peaceful district of Santa Cruz. The next morning there is an optional excursion to Jerez de la Frontera to see the Alcazar, the cathedral and a 'ganadería', where bulls are bred for bull fighting. After lunch back on board the ship, there is an optional guided tour of Cadiz and Sanlucar de Barrameda, where you will visit a wine cellar famous for its Manzanilla.

Day 7 - Portimao (Portugal)

Explore Silves on an optional excursion and discover the ancient Moorish castle complex, 13th-century cathedral, 15th-century bridge and Museu Arqueológico. From Silves travel to the picturesque city of Monchique's with its cobbled streets, artisan shops and 17th-century Franciscan monastery.

Day 8 - Lisbon - UK

Disembark Panorama II or Harmony G and transfer to the airport for the return flight to the UK.

For navigational reasons the Captain of the ship reserves the right to modify the cruise itinerary.
