Minoan palace at Knossos, Heraklion, Crete

Visit Valetta, capital of Malta, whose harbour is guarded by the ancient Citadel. Crossing to Egypt, the cruise calls at ancient Alexandria and then to Port Said at the entrance to the Suez Canal. From both ports there are optional excursions to Cairo and the famous Pyramids.

Travelling to the sunny south, the cruise calls at Heraklion, the main town of Crete, with excursions to the reconstructed Palace of Knossos, the legendary labyrinth of the Minotaur. Calling at Limassol, the cruise offers a taste of the island of Cyprus.

Genoa, Italy

Arrive and embark your cruise ship, MS Louis Majesty. The birthplace of Christopher Columbus, Genoa has a long and proud history as one of the most important ports in the Mediterranean. The rejuvenated waterfront is home to an outstanding maritime museum and aquarium.

Marseilles, France

Part of the region of Provence, this ancient seaport is the oldest city in France, and now the second largest after Paris. Enjoy a walk through the picturesque old port of this cosmopolitan city rich in history, culture and tales of the sea.

Valletta, Malta

Valletta appears on the horizon like an elaborate sandcastle. Within its walls are the riches of the crusading Knights of St. John, who fled here from Rhodes in 1530 and amassed great treasures before being ousted by Napoleon.

Alexandria for Cairo, Egypt

The second largest city in Egypt, Alexandria, known as "The Pearl of the Mediterranean", has an atmosphere that is more Mediterranean than Middle Eastern; its ambience and cultural heritage distance it from the rest of the country although it is actually only 225 km from Cairo. Founded by Alexander the Great in 331 BC, Alexandria became the capital of Graeco-Roman Egypt, its status as a beacon of culture symbolized by Pharos, the legendary lighthouse that was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

Port Said, Egypt

At the entrance to the Suez Canal, Port Said is the starting point for excursions to Cairo and visits to the amazing Pyramids and the Sphinx.

Day 8
Ashdod, Israel

Ashdod is the fifth-largest city in Israel, located in the Southern District of the country, on the Mediterranean coast. Ashdod is an important regional industrial centre. The Port of Ashdod is Israel's largest port accounting for sixty percent of the country's imported goods.

Day 9
Limassol, Cyprus

Limassol is the second-largest city of Cyprus and the biggest municipality of the island. The city is located on Akrotiri Bay on the island’s southern coast and it is the biggest transit port in the Mediterranean. Limassol is renowned for its long cultural tradition. A wide spectrum of activities and a great number of museums and archaeological sites are nearby for the interested visitor.

Heraklion, Greece

Heraklion is just three miles away from the fantastic ruins of the Palace of Knossos. Discovered in 1899 and partially reconstructed, the elaborate Palace is believed to be the site of the mythical Labyrinth of King Minos and the seat of ancient Minoan culture.

Naples, Italy

Arrive in the morning. A bustling port city in southern Italy, Naples is famous for its setting on the Bay of Naples overlooked by Mt Vesuvius. Nearby are the extensive ruins of Pompeii, the ancient Roman city destroyed by the volcanic eruption of Mt Vesuvius. Optional excursion to Pompeii.

Arrive early morning and disembark MS Louis Majesty.
