Highlights include an overnight in enchanting Istanbul, giving plenty of time to explore this fascinating city spanning two continents. Essential sights include the magnificent Blue Mosque, the Grand Bazaar and the Topkapi Palace, famed for its jewels and spectacular gardens.

Santorini, Greece

Your voyage continues through the Mediterranean to the beautiful Greek islands of Mykonos, with its windmills and whitewashed chapels, Patmos and Rhodes, the ‘Island of Roses’. From Kusadasi, on the Turkish mainland, an optional tour to nearby Ephesus should not be missed; see the Library of Celsus and the Great Amphitheatre where St. Paul preached.

Ephesus, Turkey

On to Crete and the picturesque town of Agios Nikolaos, named after the charming 7th century Byzantine chapel of St Nikolas, with its bell tower, drum and dome. We witness a sunset on Santorini, perhaps the most breathtaking of all the Greek Islands. The town of Thira, with its white-washed houses, narrow streets, and open-air cafés, clings to steep cliffs only accessible by mule or cable-car.

Itinerary
Day 1
Piraeus (Athens), Greece

Embark MS Cristal and depart in the late afternoon.

Day 2
Istanbul, Turkey

Arrive in Istanbul mid-afternoon. Explore the magnificent architecture and atmosphere of the vibrant city where East meets West. Overnight in Istanbul.

Day 3
Istanbul, Turkey

Spend the morning and afternoon exploring Istanbul. Take the opportunity to visit the Blue Mosque and the Topkapi Palace. Sail for Mykonos in the early evening.

Day 4
Mykonos, Greece

Arrive in Mykonos mid-afternoon, and disembark by tender. There is time to explore this scenic island dotted with white-washed chapels and beautiful windmills. In the evening, find a table on the waterfront and enjoy the sunset over the picturesque harbour. Depart at midnight.

Day 5
Patmos, Greece, and Kusadasi, Turkey

Arrive early morning. Disembark by tender and enjoy three and a half hours in Patmos before sailing to Kusadasi, arriving in the early afternoon. A tour to nearby Ephesus is recommended, where important sites include the Library of Celsus and the great Amphitheatre. Depart in the evening.

Day 6
Rhodes, Greece

Arrive early morning. There is plenty of time to explore the beautiful ‘Island of Roses’ and the charming town of Lindos with its ancient acropolis. Depart early evening.

Day 7
Agios Nikolaos (Crete), Greece; Santorini, Greece

Arrive early morning. Take the chance to explore this picturesque town and its 7th century Byzantine chapel. Depart at noon. Arrive in Santorini late afternoon, and disembark by tender. Visit this most picturesque town above the cliffs by cable-car or mule. Depart in the evening.

Day 8
Piraeus (Athens), Greece

Arrive early morning and disembark MS Cristal.
