This cruise takes in the best of picturesque Turkey, starting from the beauty of the fjord-like scenery and pine-clad hills tumbling down to crystal-clear waters around Marmaris.
An attractive natural harbour, Serçe faces the island of Rhodes. It was from the waters here that the wreck of an 11th century Byzantine merchant ship was excavated, which is now housed in the Bodrum Museum of Underwater Archaeology.
The ruins of a castle stand on the headland of Bozukkale, literally translated as ‘broken castle’. Formally called Loryma the bay was used at various times to assemble naval fleets, most notably in 395 BC by Demetrius Polioketes before his attack on Rhodes.
Selimiye is an idyllic traditional Turkish fishing village set on a wide bay with a mountain backdrop and a ruined fortress on a hill overlooking the azure sea.
