Itinerary
Day 1
London - Vienna

Begin with the VIP Departure Service to London Heathrow or Gatwick Airport for your scheduled British Airways or other leading airline flight to Vienna. Meet your representative on arrival and transfer to the port to embark the River Duchess or River Countess.

Day 2
Vienna

Vienna’s compact historic city centre is an exciting array of cafés and grand places, culminating at the magnificent Gothic cathedral. Your city tour will take you along the stately Ringstrasse to visit the National Library and the Baroque State Hall of the Austrian National Library, said to be the most beautiful library room in the world. Captain's Welcome Dinner this evening.

Day 3
Linz

The Danube serves as a dividing line between the modern city of Linz and its old “soul.” You will visit Linz’s Old Church built in the 1670s by the Jesuits, and be guided through the pedestrian zone, Alter Markt, and the impressive Main Square, one of Austria's most attractive closed squares.

Day 4
Regensburg

An unspoiled gem, Regensburg is a friendly town with quaint cobblestone streets, medieval alleys and historic Roman remnants. On your tour, you will see the Cathedral of St. Peter, with magnificent stained glass windows dating from the 14th century and the town’s famous 12th-century Stone Bridge.

Day 5
Nuremberg

Our tour today includes the Nazi Party Rally grounds, the medieval town wall with its towers, and ends with a walk to the central market with its beautiful fountain. As we leave Nuremberg and head toward Bamberg, you will learn about the Main-Danube Canal, an engineering marvel which allows ships to sail from Amsterdam to the Black Sea.

Day 6
Bamberg

You are now in the centre of the Main region, where the towns are untouched by time. Enjoy a guided walk through Bamberg’s Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Marvel at Renaissance palaces, Baroque houses and a breathtaking cathedral.

Day 7
Würzburg (Rothenburg)

Travel along the Romantic Road, a spectacular route winding through Bavaria to the Alps. When you arrive in Rothenburg, you feel as if you are stepping back in time to the Middle Ages, as the city walls still stand, protecting the charming core of gothic churches and gabled houses from intruders. Taste the flavour of Germany during lunch at a local restaurant. Return to the ship in Würzburg.

Day 8
Miltenberg

Your adventures along this breathtakingly beautiful section of the river begins with a visit to Miltenberg, a medieval town with crooked streets and leaning houses that are right out of the pages of a German fairytale. Your walking tour takes you past Main Castle on the way into Old Town and New Square. From there, you will see the famous Royal Inn, which has been a working hotel since the 16th century; the aptly named Crooked House, and Old Square.

Rüdesheim has a long history going back to Roman times. The town is famous for, among other things, the Drosselgasse, its long avenue of shops and wine bars, and the impressive Niederwald Monument. During the morning you visit Siegfried’s Museum, one of the world’s best collection of mechanical musical instruments, before cruising onto Boppard.

Day 11
