Itinerary
Day 1
UK - Budapest

Fly with KLM from one of 15 UK airports into Budapest, or with British Airways from London Heathrow. On arrival transfer to the Budapest Marriott for a 2 night stay. (D)

Day 2
Budapest

This morning's included tour will visit both towns of Buda and Pest, linked by the famous Chain Bridge. Guarded by the two lion statues on both bridgeheads, the suspension bridge offers one of the cities most beautiful views. Enjoy visiting Heroes' Square, Matthias Church, the Fisherman's Bastion and the medieval town on Castle Hill. This evening enjoy an included highlight dinner at a Hungarian restaurant. (B,D)

Day 3
Budapest

Spend the morning at leisure before enjoying a warm welcome in the afternoon from your crew as you board your luxury Scenic "Space-Ship". (B,D)

Day 4
Kalocsa

The ancient city of Kalocsa is renowned for its decorative embroidery and paprika production. Be impressed by a horse show in Kalocsa and trace the origins of paprika. We'll also visit the impressive library at the Bishop's Palace. (B,L,D)

Day 5
Vukovar - Novi Sad

Vukovar is situated at the confluence of the Vuka River with the Danube. See architectural monuments and baroque squares, along with sombre reminders of the Balkan Wars on your included guided tour. From here our coach takes us to Novi Sad where our guided tour reveals the multicultural origins of the city. (B,L,D)

Day 6
Belgrade

Today we explore Serbia's capital Belgrade, one of the oldest capital cities in Europe and site of the famous siege in 1456 which 'decided the fate of Christendom'. Visit Tito's memorial, the national museum and St. Sava Cathedral. (B,L,D)

Day 7
Iron Gate

Keep your camera at the ready as we cruise the spectacular Iron Gate, a narrow gorge carved by the Danube between the Carpathian and Balkan Mountains, which forms a natural border between Serbia and Romania. (B,L,D)

Day 8
Svistov - Veliko Turnovo - Arbansi

From the former Roman fortress town of Svistov in Bulgaria we venture to Veliko Tarnovo, a town with a rich historical past. The nearby leafy village of Arbanassi, is included in UNESCO's World Heritage list of valuable cultural sites. (B,L,D)

Day 9
Cernavoda - Black Sea

Cernavoda in Romania is our ship's base today for an excursion to the seaside town of Constanta, the gateway to the Black Sea coast and Mamaia. This popular resort town stretches along a golden sand beach between the Black Sea and Lake Siutghiol. (B,L,D)

Day 10
Bucharest

This morning we travel by coach to the Romanian capital of Bucharest, once known as the "Paris of the East" - it even has its very own Arc de Triomphe! Visit Ceauçescu's imposing Palace of the Parliament, the largest building in Europe. Enjoy an included sightseeing tour of the town. Stay two nights at the Radisson Blu Bucharest. (B,D)

Day 11
Bucharest

Today we journey through farmland and valleys of The Transylvanian plateau. We'll visit Bran Castle, originally a stronghold of the Teutonic Knights and of strategic importance as a barrier to invading Ottoman forces. Of course, it is more widely known as the legendary home of Count Dracula. (B)

Day 12
Bucharest - UK

After breakfast this morning you will be transferred to the airport for your flight back to the UK, either directly to the UK with British Airways to London Heathrow, or via Amsterdam with KLM to one of 15 regional UK airports. (B)
