Winding through four countries, Hungary, Slovakia, Austria and Germany, this cruise starts in Budapest and follows the Blue Danube to Bratislava and Vienna, where your included tours show you the highlights of these cosmopolitan cities.

Continuing into Germany, visits to the exciting cities of Munich and Nuremberg contrast with the charming and picturesque towns of Wurzburg, Rudesheim, Koblenz, famed for their wine-producing. The final part of your cruise takes you along the winding, scenic River Moselle, to Cochem, Bernkastel and arriving in Trier at the end of a superb Ultimate River Cruise.

Itinerary
Day 1
Budapest

Fly from your selected airport in the UK to Budapest, where you will be met and taken by coach to your luxurious river ship, moored close to the city centre. Tonight, attend a Welcome Reception before the Captain's Gala Welcome Dinner. (D)

Day 2
Bratislava

Today your ship arrives in the capital of Slovakia, Bratislava. Here, disembark for a guided city tour that includes the Old Town Hall, stunning Mirbach Palace and Gothic St Martin's Cathedral. (B,L,D)

Day 3
Vienna

On arrival in Vienna today, enjoy a tour including Hofburg Palace, the Opera House, Ringstrasse and St Stephen's Cathedral. Perhaps go shopping in the pedestrian-only Kärntnerstrasse or enjoy pastries in a local cafe. After dinner on board, perhaps join us for an optional Mozart and Strauss concert this evening. (B,L,D)

Day 4
Dürnstein - Melk

Early this morning, the ship reaches the Wachau Valley. Stop in Dürnstein where you'll spot the ruins of the castle where Richard the Lionheart, King of England, was imprisoned in 1192. Back on board, the ship cruises to Melk, enjoy a tour of Melk's Benedictine Abbey, then re-board the ship. A wine tasting then highlights your visit to the Wachau Valley. (B,L,D)

Day 5
Linz-Passau

After breakfast, perhaps take an optional full-day tour to Salzburg and its 'Sound of Music' sights (own expense). Or stay on board and cruise to Passau for a tour of this historic city. All guests then rejoin the ship for dinner with folklore entertainers tonight. (B,L,D)

Day 6
Regensburg

Tour Regensburg, one of Germany's best-preserved medieval cities. Tonight enjoy a music performance on board. (B,L,D)

Day 7
Nuremberg

Today enter the Main-Danube Canal, straddling the Franconian Alps via 16 stair-step locks. Having taken 32 years to construct, the canal was completed in 1992 and is truly a feat of modern engineering. Later, arrive in Nuremberg and enjoy a tour of the Franconian capital. Afterwards, enjoy time at leisure. (B,L,D)

Day 8
Nuremberg, Munich

After breakfast today, travel by train to Munich, the capital of Bavaria and one of Germany's largest cities. On arrival, enjoy free time to explore. Your escort today will provide ideas of what to do, and will also take you to lunch in the world-famous Hofbrauhaus. (B,L,D)

Day 9
Bamberg

Today, you'll disembark your ship just outside Bamberg and travel by coach into this enchanting city whcih was declared a World Heritage-listed site in 1993. Here, you will enjoy a tour of the city's serpentine streets, which feature charming houses and 18th century mansions. (B,L,D)

Day 10
Würzburg

This morning arrive in Würzburg, surrounded by sloping hills covered with vineyards. After a tour, explore Würzburg on your own, or take an optional excursion to Rothenburg, a beautiful walled city situated on the Romantic Road. (B,L,D)

Day 11
Miltenberg, Wertheim

Still in Germany this morning, arrive in Miltenberg and travel by coach to Wertheim. Known for its glassworks, Franconian wine and friendly people, Wertheim is located where the Main and Tauber rivers meet. (B,L,D)

Day 12
Heidelberg/Mainz - Rüdesheim - Koblenz

Today, choose between a city tour in Mainz or an excursion to Heidelberg. If you decide to travel by coach to Heidelberg, visit the red-walled castle offering beautiful views of the Neckar Valley and Heidelberg below. Then tour old Heidelberg before rejoining the ship in Rüdesheim. Alternatively, stay in Mainz and enjoy a walking tour of this charming city, including a visit to the Gutenberg Museum, before cruising on the Main and Rhine rivers to Rüdesheim. Board the Winzerexpress mini-train and visit Siegfried's Mechanical Music Instrument Museum. Late this afternoon, everyone will cruise the most beutiful part of the Rhine River and arrive in Koblenz after dinner. (B,L,D)

Day 13
Cochem - Zell

At Koblenz, your ship will leave the Rhine and begin the final leg of the cruise along the Moselle River, a winding and picturesque waterway. Watch as the beautiful scenery of the Moselle Valley drifts by. On arrival in the town of Cochem, visit Reichsburg Castle and absorb stunning views over the river below. Then continue past hillside vineyards to Zell, home of the famous 'Zeller Schwarze Katz' wine. Tonight, enjoy a wine tasting. (B,L,D)

Day 14
Bernkastel-Trier

After breakfast today, your ship will arrive in Bernkastel. Located in the middle of the Moselle wine-producing region, Bernkastel boasts over 500 years of documented wine history. On arrival, you'll disembark for a guided walking tour. Afterwards, your ship continues cruising to Trier, Germany's oldest city. Here, a tour will highlight the city's rich Roman past, taking you to the Roman Baths, the Roman Amphitheatre and more. Tonight enjoy a Farewell Dinner onboard. (B,L,D)

Day 15
Trier

Your wonderful cruise comes to an end today as you disembark the ship after breakfast and transfer to Paris airport for your return flight to the UK.
