Fly from your selected UK airport. On arrival you will be met and transferred to your ship on the Danube River. This evening there is a Welcome Reception followed by the Captain's Welcome Gala Dinner. (D)

Arrive in Mohacs during breakfast and take an excursion to Pecs. Charming Old Pecs is brought alive by your local guide as you take a tour. After lunch on board, enjoy a wine tasting excursion and sample aromatic, spicy wines from the vineyards of Vilány or perhaps enjoy a guided bicycle tour around Mohacs. (B,L,D)

This morning, perhaps embark on a guided sightseeing tour of Vukovar. Alternatively, travel to the charming Croatian town of Ilok, which is famous for its wines. Here, visit a local winery to learn about their production techniques and sample a range of their wines before setting off on a guided walking tour through the town. Following your selected activity, enjoy lunch back on board as you cruise across the border into Serbia and on to the city of Novi Sad. Enjoy a guided walking tour here which takes in the 18th century Petrovaradin Fortress. (B,L,D)

This morning you'll wake up in the thriving capital of Serbia, Belgrade. On a guided sightseeing tour, you'll explore its bustling streets and you'll see the imposing Kalemegdan Fortress. Alternatively, pay a visit to Tito's memorial and the House of Flowers. After your selected activity, you'll enjoy time in the afternoon at leisure or embark on a guided bicycle tour of the city before re-boarding your ship. (B,L,D)

Today, enjoy a full day of cruising through one of Europe's most awe-inspiring natural wonders, the Iron Gates. Here the Danube narrows, as it winds through a range of magnificent gorges between the southern Carpathian Mountains and the northwestern foothills of the Balkan Mountains. Forming the natural border between Serbia and Romania, today’s passage is an unforgettable highlight of your adventure. Late this evening, the ship sails to Vidin. (B,L,D)

The "Bada Vida" Fortress stands guard over the Danube at the Bulgarian frontier town of Vidin. The 14th-century fortress has massive walls and dark towers, which strongly contrast the natural park surrounding the fortress. From here, take an excursion to Belogradschik, a beautifully restored 6th-century fortress, located in a fairytale landscape of unusual rock formations (B,L,D)

After breakfast, disembark your ship and travel by coach to Bucharest, the bustling capital of Romania. During this full-day excursion, you'll visit the open-air museum dedicated to the traditional architecture and building of rural Romania. Following lunch, you may like to visit the city's Palace of the Parliament. Alternatively, visit Bucharest's historical city centre. The remainder of the day is at leisure. Enjoy a Farwell Dinner on board. (B,L,D)

Disembark the ship in Rousse and transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK. (B)
