Begin in Budapest for this fascinating cruise along the River Danube towards the Black Sea, through the speactacular Iron Gates.


See the historic landmarks of the Yugoslavian Civil War in Vukovar including the Ovcara Memoria and see the 18th-century Petrovaradin Fortress at Novi Sad. Continue along the Danube to Belgrade, home to the impressive Kalemegdan Fortress before cruising through the Iron Gates, one of Europe's natural wonders which forms a border between Serbia and Romania.


Visit the port town of Vidin where you can see the 14th-century Baba Vida Fortress, a magnificent medieval castle, and see the mighty Belogradchik Fortress on the slopes of the Balkan Mountains before exploring the capital city of Bucharest.

Black Sea Voyage
Day 1
UK - Budapest (Hungary)

Fly from your selected UK airport. On arrival you will be met and transferred to your ship on the Danube River. This evening there is a Welcome Reception followed by the Captain's Welcome Gala Dinner. (D)

Day 2
Mohacs - Pecs

Arrive in Mohacs. Travel to Pecs and enjoy a guided tour. After lunch on board, you may wish to sample aromatic wines from the vineyards of Vilany. (B,L,D)

Day 3
Vukovar - Novi Sad

2014: This morning, enjoy a tour of Vukovar or travel to the Croatian town of Ilok, which is famous for its wines. Here, visit a local winery to learn about their production techniques and sample a range of their wines before enjoying a guided walking tour through the town. Following your selected activity, enjoy lunch on board as you cruise across the border into Serbia and on to Novi Sad. Enjoy a guided walking tour here which takes in the 18th-century Petrovaradin Fortress. 2015: In 2015, visit the landmarks of the Yugoslavian Civil War including the Ovcara Memorial before cruising towards Novi Sad for a tour of Danube Park and the Petrovaradin Fortress. Day 4
Belgrade (Serbia)

Enjoy a guided sightseeing tour of Belgrade where you can see the impressive Kalemegdan Fortress and the temple of St Sava. Alternatively, visit Tito's memorial and the House of Flowers. After your selected activity, enjoy time at leisure to stroll along Prince Michael Street or take a guided bicycle tour of the city before re-boarding your ship. (B,L,D)

Day 5
Iron Gates

Relax on board as you cruise through the impressive Iron Gates. Perhaps head to one of the outdoor decks to view one of Europe's natural wonders. Forming the natural border between Serbia and Romania, this section of the River Danube provides a cruising highlight. (B,L,D)

Day 6
Vidin (Bulgaria)

Having cruised into Bulgaria overnight, today you'll arrive in the port town of Vidin where you can see the 14th-century Baba Vida Fortress, a magnificent medieval castle. Afterwards, travel by coach to Belogradchik, a small town in the Balkan Mountains. See the mighty Belogradchik Fortress on the slopes of the Balkan Mountains amid unusual rock formations - the Belogradchik Rocks. (B,L,D)

Day 7

2014: Travel by coach to Bucharest to visit the open-air museum which is dedicated to the traditional architecture and buildings of rural Romania. Alternatively, visit Bucharest's historical city centre. 2015: In 2015, enjoy a full day in Bucharest to explore the open-air museum or the Palace of Parliament. (B,L,D)

Day 8
Rousse - UK

Disembark the ship in Rousse and transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK. (B)
