Itinerary
Day 1
Amsterdam

Fly from your selected airport in the UK to Amsterdam, where you will be met and taken by coach to your luxurious river ship. Then you might like to settle in to your suite or perhaps go for a look around the streets of Amsterdam. Tonight, get to know your fellow travellers at the Captain’s Gala Welcome Dinner. (D)

Day 2
Amsterdam - Volendam - Edam

Take a guided canal boat cruise through the elegant canals of Amsterdam. Rejoin the ship for lunch and head for Volendam, a maze of fishermen’s houses built on poles with a unique open harbour. From here, an excursion takes you to Edam. Edam cheese has become famous world-wide and cheese markets are held here in the summer months. Return to the ship and cruise through the night towards Arnhem. (B,L,D)

Day 3
Arnhem

Visit the city of Arnhem. One of the major tragedies of World War II was the Battle of Arnhem, where Allied forces failed to capture the Rhine Bridge, which is featured in the Airborne Museum Hartenstein. Visit the museum, then return to your ship and continue sailing through Holland and into Belgium. (B,L,D)

Day 4
Antwerp

Antwerp is Belgium’s second largest city and home to marvellous art, architecture and the world’s largest diamond industry. Enjoy a tour of Antwerp, taking in the Grote Markt with its beautiful city hall, Brabo Fountain, the Church of Our Lady and quaint guildhouses. The afternoon is free to explore. Perhaps join an optional excursion to nearby Brussels in Belgium. (B,L,D)

Day 5
Ghent

Ghent has preserved its medieval charm and power while keeping up with the times. The city centre is a showcase of Flemish wealth and commercial success. Take a sightseeing tour of the city then enjoy time at leisure or perhaps take an optional excursion to Bruges, a beautiful city with crisscrossed canals and charming old patrician houses. (B,L,D)

Day 6
Willemstad - Dordrecht

Cruise back to the Netherlands and through the Dutch region of Zeeland. Stop in charming Willemstad for a walking tour and explore the sights. After some time to shop, continue to Dordrecht and the 18th century windmills of Kinderdijk, the largest group of original windmills in Holland. Return to your ship and relax over dinner. (B,L,D)

Day 7
Utrecht - Keukenhof Gardens

Cruise the Amsterdam-Rhine Canal to Utrecht. Disembark and visit Keukenhof Gardens encompassing over 70 acres of parkland with lakes, gardens, greenhouses and a windmill. Return to your ship in Amsterdam for lunch, then enjoy free time before tonight’s Farewell Dinner. (B,L,D)

Day 8
Amsterdam

Your wonderful cruise comes to an end today as you disembark the ship after breakfast and transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK. (B)
