Your superb cruise begins in the fascinating city of Amsterdam with its quaint canals and tall canal-side houses. Your next stop is Cologne in Germany, with a city tour and chance to see the famous Cologne Cathedral. Rudesheim and Koblenz are fine examples of picturesque, medieval towns with an opportunity to sample the local wines of this famous wine-producing area. Your cruise continues down the Moselle River visiting scenic Cochem overlooked by its castle, and the wine town of Bernkastel before reaching Trier with its roman heritage.

Itinerary
Day 1
Amsterdam

Fly from your selected airport in the UK to Amsterdam, where you will be met and taken by coach to your luxurious river ship. (D)

Day 2
Amsterdam

Take a city tour then enjoy a canal boat cruise, sailing past 16th century merchant houses and charming churches. Rejoin the ship and cruise to Germany. Enjoy the Captain's Gala Welcome Dinner tonight. (B,L,D)

Day 3
Cologne

Having entered Germany overnight, this morning you'll cruise past Düsseldorf and arrive in Cologne. Here, disembark for a guided tour through the old part of Germany's fourth largest city. Following your tour, re-board hte ship and continue your cruise. (B,L,D)

Day 4
Rüdesheim

Today arrive in Rüdesheim, a Rhine Valley wine town, where the Winzerexpress mini-train will take you to Siegfried's Mechanical Music Instrument Museum for a tour. Then continue cruising through the Rhine Gorge on what is regarded as the most beautiful stretch of the Rhine. Enjoy views of the steep slopes covered in vineyards and dotted with ancient castles and castle ruins. Cruise past the pretty villages of St Goarshausen and Boppard, among others, as well as Lorelei Rock, rising almost vertically to over 130 metres above the water. (B,L,D)

Day 5
Mainz-Koblenz

On arrival in Mainz today, disembark the ship for a guided walking tour. Afterwards, rejoin the ship for lunch as you cruise back up the Rhine to 2000 year-old Koblenz, located at the confluence of the Rhine and the Moselle rivers. Set in one of Germany's most important wine-producing regions, Koblenz boasts an abundance of cultural monuments, historic buildings, cosy lanes and narrow alleys. Following dinner on board this evening, perhaps join your Cruise Director for a pleasant stroll through this lovely city. (B,L,D)

Day 6
Cochem

During breakfast thsi morning, your ship cruises along the beautiful Moselle River before arriving in Cochem, best known for its cosy wine taverns and colourful riverside promenades. Disembark, and enjoy a guided visit to majestic Reichsburg Castle, which offers spectacular views out over the river and its surrounds. Then return to your ship and admire the picturesque scenery as it winds its way along the Moselle. (B,L,D)

Day 7
Bernkastel - Trier

After breakfast today, you'll arrive in Bernkastel and disembark your ship to explore this quaint town on a walking tour. Located in the Moselle wine-producing region, Bernkastel boasts over 500 years of documented wine history. After the tour, re-board your ship and continue cruising the Moselle to Trier, regarded as Germany's oldest city. Here, a guided tour will highlight the city's ancient Roman past as it takes you to the Roman Baths, the Roman Amphitheatre and more. Tonight enjoy a Farewell Dinner on board. (B,L,D)

Day 8
Trier

Your wonderful cruise comes to an end today as you disembark the ship after breakfast and transfer to Paris airport for your return flight to the UK. (B)
