From fairytale Passau in Germany, we cruise to elegant Vienna in Austria, where you can explore historic Palaces and sample the delights of traditional coffee shops, before ending in cosmopolitan Budapest in Hungary.

Itinerary
Day 1
Nuremberg

Fly from your selected airport in the UK to Nuremberg, where you will be met and taken by coach to your luxurious river ship, which will be moored on the Main-Danube Canal. The ship will be moored overnight in Nuremberg. (D)

Day 2
Nuremberg - Continental Divide.

Enjoy a tour of Nuremberg and see the 900-year-old -ramparts that surround the city, the Imperial Castle and the Justice Palace. Continue on the Main-Danube Canal and pass the Continental Divide, the highest point of your cruise - 435 metres above sea level - before descending through stair-step locks. (B,L,D)

Day 3
Regensburg

Arrive in Regensburg, where a tour will show you the city’s high-lights, including the Old Town Hall and the Porta Pretoria - gates to an ancient Roman fort built in 179 AD. This evening enjoy Bavarian folklore entertainment on board. (B,L,D)

Day 4
Passau - Linz.

After breakfast, arrive in Passau for a walking tour of this fairytale city founded more than 2,000 years ago. Or, take an optional full day tour to Salzburg and its most popular ‘Sound of Music’ sights. Those staying on board cruise to Linz in Austria. After dinner take a walk through this delightful town. Day 5
Melk - Vienna

Reach the Wachau Valley early this morning. A tour takes you to Melk’s magnificent Benedictine Abbey perched above the river. At lunch-time, continue to Vienna, the ‘City of Music’. Tonight, explore the vibrant Austrian capital on your own, or come along for an optional Mozart and Strauss concert. (B,L,D)

Day 6
Vienna

A tour of Vienna includes the Hofburg Palace, the Opera House, Ringstrasse, and St Stephen’s Cathedral. In the afternoon enjoy free time to shop or sample some of Vienna’s famous pastries. Your ship departs Vienna early evening to continue cruising along the Danube towards Budapest. (B,L,D)

Day 7
Budapest

Afternoon sightseeing takes you to see historic Buda Castle, 500-year-old Matthias Church, St Stephen’s Basilica, the distinctive Fisherman’s Bastion and the marvellous Royal Palace. Enjoy some time in the afternoon to explore, before we gather on board tonight for a Gala Farewell Dinner with Gypsy violinists. (B,L,D)

Day 8
Budapest

Your wonderful cruise comes to an end in the Hungarian capital of Budapest today as you disembark the ship after breakfast and transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK. (B)
