Cruise the Caledonian Canal through the Scottish Highlands from Inverness to Fort William

A 4 night cruise aboard MV Lord of the Glens in the spring and autumn, sailing the Caledonian Canal from Inverness to Fort William

Special Offer
Exclusive Blue Water Holidays Prices

This wonderful four night cruise in sheltered waters transits the Caledonian Canal from Inverness in the east to Banavie in the shadow of Ben Nevis in the west. The Caledonian Canal follows a meandering course through the Great Glen, and is a combination of natural and man-made waterways which include Loch Dochfour, Loch Ness, Loch Oich and Loch Lochy.

Our vessel is the well-appointed MV Lord of the Glens, which commences its voyages from Inverness, entering the first man-made section of the Caledonian Canal before entering Loch Dochfour and Loch Ness.

Loch Ness

Approximately half-way down Loch Ness, the vessel pauses in front of Urquhart Castle before arriving at the picturesque town of Fort Augustus. Leaving Fort Augustus the vessel is lifted by a series of 6 inter-connected locks which run through the centre of Fort Augustus. On the other side, sail into beautiful Lochs Oich and Lochy to Banavie in the shadow of Ben Nevis.

From Banavie, see Neptune's Staircase, a series of eight locks which signals the end of this voyage. There is much to delight in a cruise through the Great Glen at this time of the year, including an abundance of wildlife and the snow-capped mountains. The itinerary also operates in reverse.
