Fram crosses the South Atlantic Ocean and reaches the westernmost outposts of the Falkland Islands, home to Gentoo and Rock Hopper penguins as well as sea lions and black-browed albatross.
Spend Christmas Eve on the unique island of South Georgia, known as the Serengeti of the Southern Ocean. See abandoned whaling stations and visit the graveyard of famous explorer, Sir Ernest Shackleton.
Fram reaches the Great White Continent of Antarctica where you can get up close to Chinstrap penguins and seals on Polarcirkel landings at isolated beaches. Optional excursions including kayak trips in untouched waters and nights ashore in tents allow you to explore this breathtaking landscape further.

White Christmas in Antarctica Itinerary
Day 1 - Buenos Aires (Argentina)
December in Buenos Aires is springtime. See the colourful flowers bursting into bloom at the Rose Garden Walk. Join an optional city tour or explore independently. Check in to your hotel for the evening.
Day 2 - Buenos Aires - Ushuaia
This morning, board your flight to Ushuaia and embark your ship, MS Fram. Enjoy a welcome meeting on board before setting sial for the Southern Ocean.
Day 3 - At sea
Perhaps participate in a lecture during a day at sea. Keep an eye out for albatross and dolphins as Fram heads across the open sea.
Days 4-5 - Falkland Islands
The Falklands are home to an abundance of wildlife including Gentoo and Rock Hopper penguins, sea lions, elephant seals and black-browed albatross who will have young with them. Explore the capital Stanley with its museum, post-office and lively pubs.
Days 6-7 - At sea
During these two days at sea, there will be lectures on board.
Days 8-9 - South Georgia
South Georgia is unique, with its mountainous scenery, glaciers and beaches. It is the perfect place to spend Christmas Eve. Take part in a real Norwegian Christmas on board with traditional food. During our stay on South Georgia, we plan to visit a site where Elephant seals bask on the sand and King penguins gather in abundance. See abandoned whaling stations, a Norwegian whaler's church and the graveyard in Grytviken where you can pay your respects to Sir Ernest Shackleton.
Day 10 - At sea
Fram continues to Antarctica where we learn more about the wonders of the Deep South, including the history, environment and wildlife.
Days 11 - South Orkneys
The remote South Orkney Islands are breathtaking, from snow-capped mountains to majestic icebergs. Spend the day exploring this vast wilderness.
Day 12 - At sea
Cruise by the Washington Strait and Coronation Island before heading towards Elephant island and Antarctica.
Days 13-17 - Antarctica
One of the highlights of our four days in Antarctica is Deception Island, one of the South Shetlands. This is one of the few places where we can put on our backpacks and hike. You can look forward to visiting Half Moon Island, a jewel in the polar landscape. Navigating through the Antarctic Sound offers the most impressive icebergs that we will see on our voyage. Keep an eye out for the Chinstrap penguins and cape petrels nesting below the spectacular cliffs of Brown Bluff.
Day 18-19 - Drake Passage
Enjoy lectures and recap your experiences as you navigate the famous Drake Passage en route to Ushuaia.
Day 20 - Ushuaia - Buenos Aires
Ushuaia is the largest city in Argentina's Tierra del Fuego region. Your Christmas adventure ends with your flight back to Buenos Aires which leaves early afternoon.
