Explore breathtaking natural landscapes, from snow-covered coastlines to magical islands home to penguins, fur seals and sea birds on luxurious expedition ship Hanseatic, equipped to venture to the remote and icy regions of Antarctica.
Get up close to large colonies of king penguins and fur seals during Zodiac landings at Salisbury Plain and Gold Harbour beach on the picturesque island of South Georgia, and visit the grave on Sir Ernest Shackleton at the Gryviken whaling station.
Hanseatic cruises directly into the flooded caldera of the extinct volcano on Deception Island in the South Shetland archipelago, before heading to the Antarctic Peninsula, where weather permitting, you will be able to set foot on the mainland near the beautiful Paradise Bay, where icebergs the size of houses drift by. Observe colonies of Gentoo penguins and majestic glaciers, before navigating the Lemaire Channel to Port Lockroy, the former British research station, and cruising the famous Drake Passage.
