Voyage to the heart of the Amazon on board the elegant Motor Yacht Tucano.
With just 18-passengers the M/Y Tucano is the most comfortable expeditionary vessel in the Amazon.
All the cabins are outside cabins with private baths and air conditioning. Although built in 1997 and refitted annually, The Tucano (Portuguese for Toucan) is styled on an elegant 19th century steamer with lots of polished brass and highly varnished woodwork. Our crew of 8 is trained to keep the vessel ship-shape and to be helpful in every way possible.
The main features of the vessel are:
A large observation deck
The deck is open and has a large shade canopy. It is a wonderful place to spot wildlife, catch some sun and watch the Macaw parrots screeching across the sky.
Middle balcony
This wide balcony faces forward and is a serene spot to relax or watch monkeys jump from one vine to another and pink dolphins leaping into the air.
A generous dining room/salon
From this large, elegantly panelled space at the front of the vessel, we are treated to fantastic vistas through the many windows. Wholesome meals are served here and we have a library of classic novels, games and selected books on Amazon wildlife.
Comfortable and private cabins
All the cabins on Tucano are outside cabins and have lots of windows. Each cabin is air-conditioned and has a private bathroom with toilet, sink and hot water pressurised showers. Since the corridors face inwards, each cabin offers privacy and you can watch the forest float by from your bedroom. A third small bed can be added to some cabins to accommodate three persons.
