Ketchican sits inside the Tongass National Forest, the frequent rains producing lush plant growth and plentiful wildlife. The town has the world's largest collection of totem poles, scattered around the town, parks and museums. After cruising the magnificent fjord of Tracy Arm, Seven Seas Navigator reaches Juneau. The Juneau Icefield covers a vast area of valleys and mountains, holding back the rainforest. In town, native art and Tlingit culture are still in evidence, and the seafood is excellent, freshly caught and local.

Mendenhall Glacier, Alaska

Although Skagway is Alaska's largest city, it has a small population still benefitting from its connections with the Klondike Gold Rush and the scenic narrow guage railway which climbs to White Pass. Sitka has an idyllic position on Baranof Island beneath the mountains, little changed despite its past as a Pacific port and Naval Air Station.

A journey through this pristine landscape, Spectacular Majesties ends on a high note, passing the impressive Hubbard Glacier.

Majesty of Alaska Cruise Itinerary
Day 1
Vancouver, Canada

The natural beauty around Vancouver brings visitors from far and wide to enjoy skiing, hiking and fishing. The city offers great food, a lively nightlife and plenty of shopping opportunities in Robson Street and Commercial Drive. Join Seven Seas Navigator today after your free flight to Vancouver.

Day 2
Cruising the Inside Passage

Seven Seas Navigator sails the Seymour Narrows on her way towards the Inside Passage. This historic stretch of water once claimed many victims, until the treacherous submerged peaks of Ripple Rock were blown up in 1958.

Day 3
Ketchikan, Alaska, USA

The small community of Ketchican began life as a summer camp for Tlingit natives who came to fish for salmon. Misty Fjords National Monument is a pristine stretch of saltwater surrounded by towering cliffs and waterfalls which can be explored by kayak, spotting black bear, mountain goats, killer whales and porpoises.

Day 4
Cruising Tracy Arm Fjord - Sawyer Glaciers - Juneau, Alaska, USA

The dramatic Tracy Arm fjord stretches for 30 miles past icebergs and the mighty Sawyer Glaciers. Huge Juneau Icefield feeds 38 glaciers and covers the area between Taku Inlet and Skagway to a depth of between 800 and 4,500 feet. A slow retreat beginning in the 1700's left behind rocky creeks and forests rich in plantlife. The gold rush arrived in Juneau in 1880 when Tlingit Chief Kowee revealed Gold Creek to two prospectors named Harris and Juneau.

Day 5
Skagway, Alaska, USA

Skagway is the largest city in Alaska, a bustling entry port for Klondike Gold Rush National Historic Park and the White Pass & Yukon Route Railroad. The railway was built in 1898 to service the Gold Rush, climbing 3000 feet in 26 miles past the evocative Dead Horse Gulch, mountains, glaciers and gorges, on a dramatic high-level journey to White Pass.

Day 6
Sitka, Alaska, USA

Sitka was formerly an important fur-trading port for the Russian-American Company and was a defensive station in World War II. The coast near Sitka is the habitat of hump-back whales, sea otters and puffins, and brown bears are a common sight on land.

Day 7
Cruising Hubbard Glacier

The Hubbard Glacier is roughly 76 miles long and has gone through periods of advance in recent times. In May 1986, it temporarily blocked Russell Fjord, a rare phenomenon which was repeated in 2002. The growth of the glacier is noisy, and creaks can be heard as it moves and deposits blocks of ice into the sea.
