Starting from Alaska's main town on Anchorage, this cruise gives close-up views of many of Alaska's finest glaciers flowing into the sea from the heights of the Alaskan mountains. The Hubbard Glacier on the Bay of Alaska Fjord flows into the sea from the high mountains many miles away. A day in Glacier Bay with commentary by a Park Ranger includes the amazing Margerie Glacier - two miles wide, with regular cracking noises as large chunks of ice fall off into the sea.

Fly UK to Seattle, USA

Depart from London to Seattle and transfer to first-class airport hotel for overnight accommodation.

Day 2
Anchorage, Alaska, USA

Fly to Anchorage and transfer to Whittier. Alternatively, take a pre-cruise tour to the Alaska wilderness. Embark Diamond Princess or Island Princess, settle into your cabin, and explore the ship's facilities. Sail evening

Day 3
Hubbard Glacier, Yakutat Bay, Alaska

This coastal bay is home to the mighty Hubbard Glacier. You may see seals, sea otters or bald eagles riding on the ice floes broken from the glacier. The glacier is 76 miles long, regularly calving huge icebergs which crash into the sea.

Day 4
Glacier Bay, USA - glacier cruising

See the amazing glaciers as you crusie the bays of this National Park, with narration by a Park Ranger. A highlight is the huge Margerie Glacier.

Day 5
Skagway, USA

Arrive in Skagway this morning. Stoll down Broadway for a feel of the pioneer days. Perhaps stop at a gold-rush style saloon bar. Take the White Pass and Yukon railway into the heart of Canada's Yukon gold-rush territory. Depart evening.

Day 6
Juneau, USA

Arrive in Juneau, Alaska's capital, for a full day. Take the Mt Roberts Tramway for a bird's eye view of the city. Don't miss an excursion to the Mendenhall Glacier, perhaps with whale watching in Icy Strait, or watch for brown bears on Admiralty Island.

Day 7
Ketchikan, USA

Arrive afternoon. Visit the infamous Creek Street, or take a float plane trip to the wilderness of Misty Fjords, enjoy shopping, visit the totem pole collection, or perhaps hike to the top of Deer Mountain. Depart early evening.

Day 8
Inside Passage, scenic cruising

Cruise through some of the most beautiful scenery in the world as you travel from Alaska to British Columbia.

Day 9
Vancouver, Canada

Arrive early am. Disembark the ship this morning and fly home overnight.
